"MU TODAY U TOMORROW!" a benefit concert to be held at the Shelter

MU TODAY...U TOMORROW!
On December 10, 2009, the Hip Hop community, Muslims, grassroots activists and community at large came together in an unprecedented show of unity and support to demand justice for Mujahid Carswell. Detroit Hip Hop artist Mujahid Carswell aka MU while still mourning the lost of his father Imam Luqman, who was killed by the FBI, has been accused of being apart of a radical Islamic terrorist organization called "the Ummah". I've known Mu for over 10 years and can attest that the accusations and charges against him are bogus and even laughable. And everyone else who knows him certainly would agree. However, these charges are very serious and the community must come together and demand justice for Mu. Come out, show support and share a powerful evening of performances by:Professor Griff of Public Enemy, WAE, Invincible, Umar bin Hassan of the Last Poets, DUMINIE, ONEBELO, Finale, RenCen, Jessica Care Moore, Jasiri X, Paradise the Architect of X-Clan, 5 ELA, Miz Korona, Marv One, Supa Emcee, Lo Louis, Faceman, Masood, Danny Brown, Minister Malik Shabazz, Omari "King Wise", Righteous, Fallah, DJ Soko, DJ Butter, DJ K FreshSPONSORS: Black History 101 Mobile Museum, Hip Hop Congress, Burn Rubber, DSE, and the Justice for Mujahid Carswell CommitteeAn injustice to one of us is injustice to all of us!!! 2. Dynamic Lyricism in hip hop was once a necessity, but is now a luxury. If that statement is true then"Mu"is a most luxurious emcee. Performing around the city of Detroit Since age 8, he and his brother Omar Ruled the talent show scene as the group, SOA. The group eventualy disbanded and a 17-year-old,"Mu" went on to become a solo artist. Earning a Reputation among Detroit's hip-hop elite was easy for the Young Emcee, so nice on the mic that he earned the title of "Lush Lounge Legend", Named after the lengendary Detroit rap hangout. Accolades would continue throughout"Mu's"career, he has performed infront of large Crowds in the Thousands, and small audiences as Well. Opening for rap industry elites, such as De La Soul, Redman & Method Man, Kid Capri, to Name a Few and Has toured Cross Country with the Lagendary SUGA HILL GANG, Detroit hometown artists D-12, and Bone Crusher.Mu is Set to Release a New album to Rival His Mixtape, "The Flood", which is currently present in 32 Countries. However he has a special place in his heart for Detroit. "I love it here. I just love being here. It's raw and real, like me. I love the hustle here." Hustling is something that"Mu"is no stranger to, in the sense that he has hustled for every music career opportunity that has come his way. From Being Asked to Appear Several Times in the music video"Toy Soldiers" from Eminem's multi-platinum Encore Album."Mu"has also been written about in The Source, XXL, and Vinyl Analysis. He won a Detroit Hip Hop Award for Best Song on the song Titled "Broken" Featuring Journalist 103 & PROOF of D12. He is currently Staying Busy Running His New Label "B&E" witch stands for (Beginning & End)And Features Artist Like Journalist103, Bilal Rossi, 2Wise Men and More. He's Also Worked With the Likes of Young Zee, DJ Muggs (House of Pain) and DJ Houseshoes. The confident Cancer likes to be in charge of his Career, and claims responsibility for his previous lack of business knowledge while focusing on the music end of his career, something he has Corrected. A prolific lyricist Mu was a Detroit Battle Rap Champion, who gains inspiration from his surroundings, "I'm inspired by my Enviroment". as far as music,I like a lot of Old school artist. I listen to everything including Country music. The Music industry, "Mu" confesses can leave a sour taste in Your Mouth, however he approaches the industry from a standpoint of Too TRUE REALISM, and feels that he has come too far to turn back now. "Greatest accomplishment? I'm proud of the love I get from people All Over the World, and of the Songs I've created and worked on; but I Dont Think I've Had My Greatest Accomplishment as of Yet,But I Think Im Gonna Have a Ton of Fun Get'n There!
